It’s that time of year again here at the beautiful Lake of the Ozarks! The week of August 22nd-28th, Captain Ron’s at the 34.5 MM will be hosting the 2011 “Lake of the Ozarks Shootout”. For those of you who are familiar with the tradition of the Shootout – there’s not much more to say other than it’s become a whole lot more than just a weekend event. For those of you who don’t know about the Shootout – you’ll definitely want to learn more!
Since the venue was moved from the old Shooter’s 21 location to Captain Ron’s, I think the event has taken on a whole new spirit. There are now activities that run the entire week including a golf tournament, treasure hunt, RC boat “mini shootout” and a fundraising auction, just to name a few. All of the activities throughout the week lead in to the real star – the Shootout itself on Saturday and Sunday! Thousands of boats will line up along the race course to watch the pulse pounding action as a wide array of PWC’s, pontoon boats, V-hull’s and catamarans compete to win their classes and ultimately seek the coveted title of “Top Gun” – the award given to the over all fastest boat. Last year, Nauti Marine and David Scott drove to victory and set a Captain Ron’s course record of 208 MPH!! Check out this video for the record setting run from last year’s Shootout:
